T'Nai Amani

Singer / Educator / Advocate

About

Who is T'Nai Amani?
Born in Newark, NJ, T'Nai Amani is a soprano, song-writer, and voice teacher.  She received her undergraduate degree in music from Savannah State University (Savannah, GA) in 2013 and her graduate degree from Georgia Southern University (Statesboro, GA) in 2015. T'Nai is currently employed as a music educator for Savannah Chatham County Public School System (Savannah, GA) and resides in Hardeeville, SC.

T'Nai Amani's strength lies in her ability to cross genres. These genres include: Classical, Jazz, R&B, Pop, Soul, and Reggae.

T'Nai Amani's versatility has awarded her the opportunity to perform on various types of stages; including the recital hall, theater, and concerts. T'Nai beautifully sang "Nachtgang" by Richard Strauss as a featured soprano in Savannah's 2020 Black Heritage Festival concert. She has studied various operatic and musical roles that include Roz from Nine to Five, Adele from Die Fledermaus, Evilene from The Wiz, and many more. T'Nai has also performed lead and background vocals for bands like A Nickel Bag of Funk, The Band Amar, and Smooth and Groove at various venues throughout the Low Country areas of South Carolina and Georgia to include Ruby Lee's South (Hilton Head, SC), Wild Wing Cafe (Savannah and Pooler, GA), Savannah's Black Heritage Festival (Savannah, GA), and many more. T'Nai Amani has opened for many national acts such as Rascal Flatts, Jennifer Holliday, and Ready for the World. When T'Nai hits the stage, the audience is definitely in for a treat.

As a songwriter, T'Nai seeks to inspire, encourage, and entice listeners as she tells them to "Get yo butt on the floor" in her single "Break a Sweat." Inspired to get in shape and motivate others to live a healthy and active lifestyle, T'Nai wrote those lyrics with passion, drive, and understanding because she knows firsthand how difficult it is to get and stay in shape. T'Nai's upcoming single, "Island Boy," was inspired by love and shows off her range and melodic technique.

As a voice teacher and music educator, T'Nai Amani teaches healthy vocal practices to singers so that they will know how to use their gift and expand it with proper technique. She knows that some of her students are not interested in becoming musicians, so she makes it her goal to teach all students who enter her classroom how to develop an appreciation for the art form. She seeks to engage them in intellectual conversations about how music reflects the present, history, and culture.
